  1. Investigative research on Pharmaceutical Library management, application, and technology.
  2. Library material agreements and purchases, joint catalog work, and integrative catalog preparation.
  3. Collaborative projects such as the gathering, preservation, exchange, supplementation, and mutual sharing of information resources (material).
  4. Exchange of material and information and collaboration with internal- and external-related bodies.
  5. Publication of journals "Pharmaceutical Library Bulletin" (issued quarterly), and Pharmaceutical Library-related publications.
  6. Participation in annual symposia of The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
  7. Convening of seminar projects including academic (research) meetings, short courses, and exhibitions that are required to enhance JPLA staff member training and resources.
  8. Undertaking of an electronic journal consortium.
  9. JPLA district activities based on six blocs nationwide.
